Battery Removal

The battery is located under the driver’s seat on 2 passenger vehicles. On 4 passenger vehicles, the battery is under the left rear passenger seat.

  1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface.

  2. Ensure the vehicle is in PARK.

  3. Turn the key switch to OFF and remove the key.

  4. To access the battery, remove the seat. See Seat removal.

  5. Remove the battery access panel.

  6. Loosen the black (negative) battery cable fastener. Remove the cable from the battery and move the cable away from the battery terminal.

  7. Loosen the red (positive) battery cable fastener. Remove the cable from the battery and move the cable away from the battery terminal.

  8. Remove the battery hold-down strap.

  9. Lift the battery out of the vehicle.
