Oil and Filter Change
The engine oil and oil filter should be changed in accordance with the Polaris Maintenance Schedule. See the Lubrication Guide section for fluid recommendations and capacities.

Position the vehicle on a level surface. Put the transmission in PARK (P) and lock the temporary brake lock.

Remove the seat from the vehicle. See Seat Removal.

Clean the area around the oil fill cap 1 and remove the oil fill cap.

Put a drain pan below the drain plug 2.

Clean the area around the drain plug 2.

Remove the drain plug 2 and washer 3. Allow the oil to drain completely.
CAUTIONHot oil can cause burns to skin. Do not allow hot oil to contact skin. -
Clean any dirt or debris from the drain plug. Install a new sealing washer on the drain plug.
NOTICEThe sealing surfaces on the drain plug must be clean and free of burrs, nicks, and scratches.

Install the drain plug and torque to specification.
TORQUEOil Drain Plug:
13 ft-lbs (18 N·m)

Move the drain pain below the oil filter 4.

Remove the right side panels to gain access the oil filter. See Side Panel / Footwell Removal.

Wipe the area around the oil filter and place a rag under the oil filter to catch any spillage.

Use an Oil Filter Wrench (available from your POLARIS dealer) to turn the oil filter counter-clockwise to remove it.

Use a clean dry cloth to clean the oil filter sealing surface on the engine crankcase.

Lubricate the o-ring on the new oil filter with a film of fresh oil. Check to make sure the o-ring is in good condition.

Install the new oil filter and rotate it clockwise by hand until the filter gasket contacts the sealing surface, then turn it an additional 3/4 turn.

Use a funnel to slowly add the recommended oil where the oil fill cap was removed. Do NOT overfill.

Install the oil fill cap.

Start the engine. Allow it to idle for one to two minutes.

Stop the engine and check for leaks.

Clean the area around the dipstick.

With the engine off, remove the dipstick. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth.

Install the dipstick and tighten it all of the way to ensure an accurate measurement.

Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. The oil level should be between the full and add lines on the dipstick.

Add oil as needed. Do NOT overfill.

Install the dipstick and wipe away any residual oil.

Install the right side panels. See Side Panel / Footwell Installation.

Install the seat. Make sure the seat is secure. See Seat Installation.

Discard the used oil and oil filter properly.
