Battery Charging and Maintenance
IMPORTANT
Read and follow the safety precautions listed on the battery and the proper battery charging procedures outlined in the manual.
It is important to keep the battery charged to prevent a potential void to the battery warranty.
If your motorcycle will not be used for a period of two weeks or longer, a maintenance charger should be connected to the battery using the Battery Charge Port.
The Battery Charge Port / Heated Gear Plug 1 is located behind the ignition switch cover and a maintenance charger can be connected to it for extended periods (for example, winter storage).
CAUTION
Before connecting a battery charger to the Battery
Charge Port, make sure the vehicle has cooled to ambient temperature.
Do not allow cables to rest on hot or sharp surfaces while charging.
