Transmission Adaptation
The XD1500 offers two types of engagement clutch adaptation methods - soft and hard. Both of these adaptations will help provide the best vehicle performance and overall experience.
Soft Adaptation
This adaptation occurs regularly during normal use by adjusting the engagement clutch for optimal drivability. This is a fine adjustment, and can also be completed manually. To manually adjust the soft adaptation, do the following:
-
While sitting in the driver’s seat, fasten the driver’s side safety belt.
-
Start the vehicle and position on a level surface. Place the transmission in PARK.
-
Check the vehicles transmission temperature by navigating the menus in the instrument cluster. To perform the soft adaptation, the transmission temperature must be between 86 f (30 c) and 212 f (100 c).
-
Enable the standard mode on Drive Mode switch.
-
While holding the brake, shift the vehicle into DRIVE. Release the brake and accelerate to approximately 10 mph (16 ). Come to a complete stop with your foot on the brake.
-
Repeat steps 2 – 5 across the range of transmission temperatures listed in step 2 to allow soft adaptation to take place across the full range of operating temperatures.
Hard Adaptation
This adaptation is only available from your Polaris dealer or other qualified person.
