Air Filter Replacement
If the motorcycle is operated in wet or dusty conditions, more frequent servicing is required. The air filter element cannot be cleaned. Replace the filter when necessary.

Remove the seat. See Seat Removal.

Remove four fasteners 1 securing air box bezel.
NOTICEDo not loosen or reinstall fasteners without compression limiters in place. -
Remove the center console cover from the alignment bracket.

Remove the gas cap and relocate to clean, safe location.

Remove the two fasteners securing the air box cover 2.

Remove the 2 air box covers.
NOTICEPull air box cover up and out to remove.

Remove three fasteners 3 to remove alignment bracket.

Remove seven fasteners 4 securing air filter access cover.

Remove the air filter from the airbox.

Inspect filter element and replace if dirty, wet, or oil fouled.

Install New filter with same orientation as old filter.
CAUTIONA bent, improperly installed filter element, or loose fitting cover may allow debris to enter the engine which may cause premature engine wear.

Install air filter access cover and secure with seven fasteners.
TORQUEAir Filter Access Cover Fastener:
14 in-lbs (2 N·m)

Install the alignment bracket and secure with fasteners.
TORQUEBodywork Alignment Bracket Fastener:
96 in-lbs (11 N·m)

Install airbox cover.
TORQUEAirbox Cover Fastener:
36 in-lbs (4 N·m)

Install gas cap.

Install center console cover.
-
Install airbox bezel and secure with fasteners.
TORQUEAirbox Bezel Fastener:
36 in-lbs (4 N·m)

Reinstall seat. See Seat Removal.
