Engine and Drivetrain Break-In

Fill the fuel tank with gasoline. Always exercise extreme caution whenever handling gasoline. Never allow a child to handle gasoline.

Check the oil level. See Oil Check for oil level specifications. Add the recommended oil as needed to maintain the oil level in the safe operating range.

Complete all steps listed in onNew Operator Driving Procedures.

Avoid aggressive use of the brakes. See the Brake System Break-in section for details.

Vary throttle position. Don’t idle extensively.

Perform regular checks on fluid levels, controls and areas as outlined on Pre-Ride Inspection.

Change the engine oil at 5 hours or one month.

Adjust/lubricate drive chain at 5 hours or 1 month.
