Battery Identification

IMPORTANT

It is important to identify the type of battery installed in the vehicle. Different types of batteries require different service procedures. Proper servicing and upkeep of the battery is very important for maintaining long battery life. All Polaris ORV models include either a Conventional battery or a Low Maintenance battery.

Conventional Battery

  • The battery is NOT activated when packaged

  • Distilled water and electrolyte added as required

  • Removable cap plugs located on top of battery

  • Vent tube located on side of battery

Low Maintenance Battery

  • Battery activated when packaged

  • Distilled water and electrolyte NEVER added

  • Non removable cap(s) located on top of battery
