Braking

  1. Release the throttle completely.

    CAUTION
    When the throttle is released completely and engine speed slows to near idle, the vehicle has no engine braking.

  2. Apply the brakes evenly and firmly. Practice starting and stopping (using the brakes) until you're familiar with the controls.
