Pitkiä ajovaloja ohjataan suuntavilkun vivusta. Kytke kaukovalot päälle työntämällä suuntavilkun vipua eteenpäin. Kytke lähivalot takaisin vetämällä suuntavilkun vipua taaksepäin.
