Drive Belt Installation

IMPORTANT

Orient the belt as it was removed or orient the new belt so that you can read the text.

  1. Loop the drive belt over the drive clutch and begin to walk it over the driven clutch sheave.

  2. Rotate the driven clutch counter-clockwise to make sure the sheaves close against the belt.

  1. Make sure the clutch cover seal is fully seated.

  2. Install the outer PVT cover and secure with fasteners. Torque fasteners to specification.

    TORQUE

    Outer PVT Cover Fasteners:

    50 in-lbs (5 N·m)

  1. Install the PVT inlet and outlet ducts. Torque the clamps to specification.

    TORQUE

    PVT Inlet / Outlet Duct Clamps:

    20 in-lbs (2 N·m)

  2. Install the footwell onto the vehicle.

  3. Install the footwell fasteners and push rivets. Torque fasteners to specification.

    TORQUE

    Footwell Fasteners, Upper:

    Torque Until Fully Seated

    Footwell Fasteners, Lower:

    36 in-lbs (4 N·m)

  1. Install the PVT access cover onto the vehicle. Install the push rivet and secure the two latches.

  1. Install the left side panel and push rivets.

  2. Install the seat.

  3. Always break in the drive belt after a belt replacement. For drive belt break-in information, see the Operation chapter.
