Battery Installation

  1. Ensure that the battery is fully charged.

  2. Place the battery in the battery holder.

  3. Coat the terminals with dielectric grease or petroleum jelly.

  4. Connect and tighten the red (positive) cable first. Torque the cable connector nut to 4.5 Nm (3.3 ft-lbs)

  5. Connect and tighten the black (negative) cable last. Torque the cable connector nut to 4.5 Nm (3.3 ft-lbs)

  6. Install the battery hold-down strap and tighten the screws.

  7. Verify that cables are properly routed.

  8. Reinstall the seat.
