Fuel Pump Prime Procedure

The fuel injection system must be purged of air:

  • If the fuel system ran out of fuel

  • If the fuel system has been disassembled

IMPORTANT

Make sure there is at least 2 gal (7.6 l) of fuel in the fuel tank.

  1. Start with the vehicle key in the OFF position.

  2. Turn the vehicle key to the ON position without cranking.

  3. Cycle the throttle lever five times within 5 seconds to open the throttle.

  4. Turn the vehicle key to START. Crank until the vehicle starts or until 20 seconds have passed.

    IMPORTANT
    Turning the vehicle key to the OFF position will restart the procedure.

  5. If the vehicle fails to start, repeat steps 1-4 up to four times.

NOTICE
Contact your authorized POLARIS dealer if the engine does not start after repeating this procedure four times.
