Starter Interlock
Manual Transmission Models
The starter interlock switch prevents the electric starter from operating when the clutch is engaged (pedal released). Read the procedure outlined in the Starting the Engine section before starting the engine.
WARNING
Never start the engine with the transmission in gear and the clutch
disengaged unless you are properly seated with helmet on, seat belt
secured and brakes applied.
AutoDrive Models
On models equipped with AutoDrive, the starter interlock prevents the electric starter from operating if the brake pedal is not engaged. Depress the brake pedal to start the engine.
