Battery Removal

WARNING

Improperly connecting or disconnecting battery cables can result in an explosion and cause serious injury or death.

When removing the battery, always disconnect the negative (black) cable first. When re-installing the battery, always connect the negative (black) cable last.

  1. Lift upward on the seat latch lever 1 and remove seat.

  2. Remove fasteners 2 that secure the battery box cover.

  3. Remove the battery box cover 3.

  4. Disconnect the black (negative) battery cable first.

  5. Disconnect the red (positive) cable last.

  6. Remove the battery from the battery box.
