Service Disconnect
When the service disconnect is unplugged, the battery pack is disconnected from all electrical components, with the exception of the contactor. After servicing the vehicle, the service disconnect should be the last connection to be made.
Disconnecting Power

Position the vehicle on a dry, firm, level surface.

Set the park brake.

Turn the key off.

Remove the hood, if needed. See Hood.

Locate the service disconnect 1 at the lower left front of the vehicle, below the horn assembly. Unplug the service disconnect.

Locate and disconnect electrical accessory connectors (such as a heater or a heated windshield).

If equipped, disconnect the negative cable from the auxiliary 12-volt battery.

Disconnect the main NEGATIVE cable from the traction batteries. Isolate the cable end to ensure the circuit cannot be completed during service.
Reconnecting Power

Reconnect the negative cable to the traction batteries. Torque the nut to 8 ft-lbs (10.8 N·m).

Reconnect the negative cable to the auxiliary 12-volt battery. Torque the screw to 5.5 ft-lbs (7.5 N·m).

Reconnect electrical accessory connectors (if equipped).

Reconnect the service disconnect.

Reinstall the hood, rear access panel, and dash.
