Battery Removal
To remove the battery, do the following:

Ensure the key switch is set to OFF position before removing the battery.

Remove the driver’s seat. See Seat Removal.

Disconnect the black (negative) battery cable first, and secure away from the battery terminals 1.

Disconnect the red (positive) battery cable 2.
-
Remove the two screws 3 securing the battery hold-down strap.
-
Remove the battery hold-down strap 4.
-
Lift the battery out of the vehicle.
Models Equipped with Two Batteries
On models equipped with two batteries, do the following:

Ensure the key switch is set to OFF position before removing the battery.

Remove the driver’s seat. See Seat Removal.

On the right-most battery, remove the battery terminal post 1 to disconnect the NEGATIVE (–) black battery cable from the battery. Secure the cable away from the battery terminals.

On the left-most battery, remove the battery terminal post 2 to disconnect the NEGATIVE (–) black battery cable from the battery. Secure the cable away from the battery terminals.

On the right-most battery, remove the battery terminal post 3 to disconnect the POSITIVE (+) red battery cable.

On the left-most battery, remove the battery terminal post 4 to disconnect the POSITIVE (+) red battery cable.

Remove the four screws 5 securing the two battery hold-down straps.

Remove the two battery hold-down straps 6.
-
Lift the batteries out of the vehicle.
