

To remove the battery, do the following:

Ensure the key switch is set to OFF position before removing
the battery.

Remove the driver’s seat. See Seat Removal.
-
Disconnect the black (negative) battery cable first, and secure
away from the battery terminals 1.
-
Disconnect the red (positive) battery cable 2.
-
Remove the two screws 3 securing the battery hold-down
strap.
-
Remove the battery hold-down strap 4.
-
Lift the battery out of the vehicle.
Models Equipped with Two Batteries
On models
equipped with two batteries, do the following:

Ensure the key switch is set to OFF position before removing
the battery.

Remove the driver’s seat. See Seat Removal.

On the right-most battery, remove the battery
terminal post 1 to disconnect the NEGATIVE (–) black
battery cable from the battery. Secure the cable away from the battery
terminals.

On the left-most battery, remove the battery
terminal post 2 to disconnect the NEGATIVE (–) black
battery cable from the battery. Secure the cable away from the battery
terminals.

On the right-most battery, remove the battery
terminal post 3 to disconnect the POSITIVE (+) red battery
cable.

On the left-most battery, remove the battery
terminal post 4 to disconnect the POSITIVE (+) red battery
cable.

Remove the four screws 5 securing
the two battery hold-down straps.

Remove the two battery hold-down straps 6.
-
Lift the batteries out of the vehicle.
