Turning Around on a Hill
If the vehicle stalls while climbing a hill, never back it down the hill! Use the K-turn to turn around.
-
Stop the vehicle and lock the parking brake while keeping body weight uphill.
-
Shift the transmission to neutral.
-
Shut off the engine.
-
Dismount on the uphill side of the vehicle, or on the left if the vehicle is pointing straight uphill.
-
Staying uphill of the ATV, turn the handlebars full left.
-
While holding the brake, release the parking brake lock and slowly release the brake, allowing the ATV to roll around to your right until it’s pointing across the hill or slightly downward.
-
Lock the parking brake and remount the ATV from the uphill side, keeping body weight uphill.
-
Restart the engine.
-
Squeeze the rear brake lever.
-
Shift the transmission to forward gear.
-
Release the parking brake and drive slowly, controlling speed with the rear brake, until the ATV is on more level ground.
