NUMATIX Controlled CVT Operation
Compressor Overheating
| Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|
| Dirt/ mud/ debris covering cooling fins on compressor area | Clean compressor area |
| Incorrect drive mode selected for driving situation | Driving situations with very frequent transitions between brake, heavy throttle input, and light throttle input cause a large amount of CVT shifting. In Comfort and Standard modes, this CVT shifting will consume a larger amount of air, which causes the compressor to run more frequently. This can cause the compressor temperature to reach its shutdown limit, especially when operating in hot ambient temperatures. Switching to Sport mode will reduce air usage and allow the compressor to cool. |

NUMATIX Controlled CVT System is Not Reducing Engine Speed When In Standard or Comfort Modes.
| Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|
| Transmission warm up cycle active | When the Nutmatix system is cold, it may go through a warmup cycle before activating. The length of the cycle is dependent on the NUMATIX system temperature. During this time, the transmission warning light will illuminate on the instrument cluster and the words "Transmission Cold" will display on the instrument cluster screen. The vehicle can be operated during the warmup cycle, but the NUMATIX system will not be active. Once the warmup cycle is completed, the NUMATIX system will become active. |
| Transmission Fault | Driving situations with very frequent transitions between brake, heavy throttle input, and light throttle input cause a large amount of CVT shifting. |
| Air system leakage |
When operating in very cold conditions (-10F and below), the seals in the NUMATIX CVT cylinder may allow some leakage. This does not indicate a problem with the seals. As the CVT warms up, the leakage should disappear. In excessively cold conditions, the CVT may not warm up enough to fully prevent leakage. If leakage is present in warmer temperatures, see your Polaris dealer or other qualified person for additional troubleshooting of the NUMATIX air system. |
