Engine Coolant Level
Always check and clean the screen and radiator fins at the intervals outlined in the POLARIS Maintenance Schedule. Do not obstruct or deflect air flow through the radiator by installing unauthorized accessories in front of the radiator or behind the cooling fan. Interference with the radiator air flow can lead to overheating and consequentially, engine damage.
-
Lift the cargo box.
-
View the coolant level through the side of the expansion tank.
-
If coolant level is low, slowly remove the radiator cap 1.
CAUTIONEscaping steam can cause burns. Never remove the pressure cap while the engine is warm or hot. Always allow the engine to cool before removing the pressure cap. -
Use a funnel and slowly add coolant as needed.
TIPThis procedure is required only if the cooling system has been drained for maintenance and/or repair. If the reservoir bottle has run dry, the complete cooling system must also be inspected. -
Reinstall the pressure cap. Use of a non-standard pressure cap will not allow the recovery system to function properly. Your authorized POLARIS dealer can provide the correct replacement part.
