Transmission Fluid Level Check

Level Inspection

  1. In a well ventilated area, start the engine and allow the unit to idle for a minimum of ten seconds.

  2. With the engine still running, shift the gear lever into each position (P-R-D) for a minimum of five seconds before changing gears.

  3. Move the gear level into the “D” position.

  4. Release the foot brake and drive the unit to reach an engine speed no higher than 2500 rpms.

  5. Drive the unit around for approximately five minutes or until the transmission reaches 140° F (60° C).

  6. Park the unit on flat ground.

  7. While still idling and stationary, shift the unit into the “R” position and hold for ten seconds.

  8. Shift the unit into the “P” position and leave idling.

  9. With the engine still running, remove the oil level inspection plug and allow the oil to drain in a suitable container.

  10. A minimum of 0.2 liters of oil should flow out of the inspection plug. See table for next step based off amount fluid collected from step 9.

    FLUID AMOUNT COLLECTED ACTION
    Less than 0.2 liters Add approximately 0.5 liters of fluid to transmission and repeat steps 1–10.
    Equal or greater than 0.2 liters Proceed to step 11.
  11. Shut the engine off.

  12. Reinstall oil level plug with new sealing ring.

    Transmission Oil Level Plug:
    15 ft-lbs (21 N·m)
