Ground System

WARNING
  • The portable generator stator winding is isolated from the frame and from the AC receptacle ground pin; and

  • Electrical devices that require a connection between one conductor pin and the grounded receptacle pin may not function properly.

This generator is equipped with a system ground to prevent electrical shock from faulty appliances.

To ground this generator, perform the following steps:

  1. Ensure engine is OFF and fuel valve switch is OFF.

  2. Using a mallet, drive a grounding rod 4 ft. into the ground.

  3. Wrap a length of bare copper grounding wire tightly around the grounding rod or use a grounding clamp.

  1. Slightly loosen bolt on ground terminal. Allow enough space to wrap copper wire.

  2. Using the other end of the copper wire, tightly wrap the wire around the terminal.
