Oil Change

  1. Position the vehicle on a level surface. Set the parking brake.

  2. Start the engine. Allow it to idle for two to three minutes. Then stop the engine.

  3. Place a drain pan under the engine crankcase.

  4. Open the oil access door.

  5. Clean the area around the drain plug.

  6. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely.

    WARNING
    Hot oil can cause burns to skin. Do not allow hot oil to contact skin.
  1. Re-install oil drain plug and torque to specification.

TORQUE

10 ft-lbs (13 N·m)

  1. Remove the oil spring-loaded screen plug 2 through the bottom of the chassis.

  1. Wash the screen 3 with solvent to remove any debris. Allow the screen to air dry.

  1. Inspect the O-ring 4 on the plug and replace if needed.

NOTICE
The sealing surfaces on the spring plug and the engine crankcase should be clean and free of burrs, nicks, or scratches.
  1. Reassemble the screen and spring back into the plug.

  2. Reinstall the plug through the bottom of the chassis and torque to specification

    TORQUE

    10 ft-lbs (13 N·m)

  3. Remove the oil fill cap / dipstick. Add Polaris-recommended lubricant. Do NOT overfill.

    Polaris PS-4 Extreme Duty Synthetic 4-Cycle Engine Oil

    Capacity

    27 floz (800 ml)

  4. Reinstall the dipstick.

  5. Start the engine. Allow it to idle for one to two minutes.

  6. Stop the engine and inspect for leaks.

  7. Check the oil level. Add oil as needed to bring the level to the upper mark on the dipstick.

  8. Dispose of used oil properly.
