Battery Installation and Connections

Always install a fully charged battery. Using a new battery that has not been fully charged can damage the battery and result in a shorter life. It can also hinder vehicle performance. If recharging is necessary, use a .5 amp battery charger

  1. Ensure battery pad is properly installed in the tray.

  2. Set the battery in its holder.

  3. Coat the terminals with dielectric grease or petroleum jelly.

  4. Connect and tighten the red (positive) cable first.

  5. Connect and tighten the black (negative) cable last.

  6. Install battery cover.

  7. Attach hold-down strap.

  8. Verify that cables are properly routed.
