Air Filter

Inspect the air filter at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart. In extremely dusty conditions, air filter replacement will be required more often. Access the air box under the seat.

  1. Remove the seat 1.

  2. Remove the two dart fasteners 2 and flip open the cover.

  3. Disengage the two cover latches 3 from the air box.

  1. Carefully remove the cover 4 from the air box.

  2. Remove the filter 5.

  3. Inspect the air box for oil or water deposits. Wipe away any deposits with a clean shop towel.

    NOTICE

    If the filter has been soaked with fuel or oil it must be replaced.

  4. Inspect the air filter and replace if necessary.

    NOTICE

    DO NOT attempt to clean the air filter with compressed air.

  5. Place the air filter into the air box and reinstall the air box cover with rubber outlet 7 turned downward.

  6. Engage the cover latches.

  7. Close the cover and re-insert the dart fasteners.

  8. Re-install the seat securely. See the Know Your ATV section, starting on Know Your ATV, for additional instruction on seat installation.

IMPORTANT
To prevent dirt intrusion, ensure the O-ring 6 is installed properly within the rim of the air intake box before closing the hinges.
