Battery Removal

WARNING
Improperly connecting or disconnecting battery cables can result in an explosion and cause serious injury or death. When removing the battery, always disconnect the negative (black) cable first. When reinstalling the battery, always connect the negative (black) cable last.
  1. Remove the right side panel to access the battery.

  2. Remove the plastic rivet and fastener 1 securing the console panel to the chassis.

  3. Remove the plastic rivet 2 securing the fender to the chassis.

  4. Disconnect the black (negative) battery cable first.

  5. Disconnect the red (positive) battery cable last.

  6. Remove the battery hold-down strap.

  7. Remove the battery shield 3.

  8. Remove the battery from the battery bracket.
