Halogen Brake Light / Taillight
Replacement (If Equipped)

X2 Models

  1. Open the tailgate.

  2. Remove the two screws 1 near the tailgate latch.

  3. Grasp the entire light assembly and pull it away from the vehicle.

  4. Disconnect the main wiring harness from the back of the light assembly.

  5. Turn the bulb counter-clockwise to remove it.

  6. Apply dielectric grease to the socket and install a new bulb.

  7. Connect the main wiring harness to the back of the light assembly.

  8. Test the light for proper operation.

  9. Reinstall the light assembly.

  10. Reinstall the two screws near the tailgate latch.

6x6 Models

  1. Disconnect the brake light / taillight harness from the main wiring harness under the cargo box.

  2. Remove the two screws 1 securing the light housing to the cargo box.

  3. Remove the light housing from the cargo box.

  4. Turn the socket counter-clockwise to remove it.

    NOTICE
    The back of the light housing indicates which socket is used for the brake light and which socket is used for the taillight.

  5. Remove the bulb from the socket.

  6. Install a new bulb.

  7. Reinstall the socket.

  8. Reinstall the light housing and screws. Tighten screws until fully seated.

  9. Connect the main wiring harness to the brake light / taillight harness.
