Toe Alignment
Use the following procedure to check the toe alignment of the vehicle. The recommended toe alignment is 6-12 mm (1/4-1/2 inch) .
-
Position the vehicle on a level surface.
-
Place the handlebars in a straight-ahead position.
-
Tie a length of string 2 between two stands 1 as shown in the illustration. Position the stands so that the string is flush with the side of the rear tire. If available, you may use a long straight-edge instead of string.
-
Measure the distance from the string to the rim at the front 4 and rear 3 of the front rim. The rear measurement should be 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4 inch) more than the front measurement on each side of the vehicle to obtain the recommended 6–12 mm (1/4–1/2 inch) toe out alignment.
-
Repeat the measurement procedure on the other side of the vehicle.
-
If you discover improper alignment, see your dealer for service.
