Toe Alignment

WARNING
Severe injury or death can result from improper toe alignment and adjustment. Do not attempt to adjust tie rod alignment. All tie rod adjustments should be performed by an authorized POLARIS dealer or other qualified service facility.

Use the following procedure to check the toe alignment of the vehicle. The recommended toe alignment is 6-12 mm (1/4-1/2 inch) .

  1. Position the vehicle on a level surface.

  2. Place the handlebars in a straight-ahead position.

  3. Tie a length of string 2 between two stands 1 as shown in the illustration. Position the stands so that the string is flush with the side of the rear tire. If available, you may use a long straight-edge instead of string.

  4. Measure the distance from the string to the rim at the front 4 and rear 3 of the front rim. The rear measurement should be 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4 inch) more than the front measurement on each side of the vehicle to obtain the recommended 6–12 mm (1/4–1/2 inch) toe out alignment.

  5. Repeat the measurement procedure on the other side of the vehicle.

  6. If you discover improper alignment, see your dealer for service.
