Stopping the Engine
(AutoDrive Transmission)
Bring the vehicle to a complete stop before stopping the engine.
WARNING
Stopping the engine with the transmission in
Drive (D) or Reverse (R) while the vehicle is moving could cause loss
of rear wheel traction or engine and transmission damage, which could
cause loss of control and serious injury or death. Always stop the
engine after the vehicle is fully stopped. If the engine stops unexpectedly
while the vehicle is moving, guide the vehicle to a safe location
off the road and away from traffic.
IMPORTANT
To perform an emergency engine stop while the
vehicle is in motion, hold the engine start/stop button for 4 seconds.
NOTICE
If there is need to move the vehicle with the
engine off, brake to a complete stop, press the Neutral (N) button,
and then press the Engine Start/Stop button.

Brake to a complete stop.

Engage the park brake.

Press the Engine Start/Stop button to turn off the vehicle.
NOTICEPressing the Engine Start/Stop button alone will not prevent your vehicle from moving after shutdown. Always use the park brake to prevent vehicle movement after shutdown.
