Paddle Shifters
(AutoDrive transmission, if
equipped)
Paddle shifters allow manual control of forward gear changes with the AutoDrive transmission. While in manual control mode, the transmission will remain in the selected gear indicated on the rider information center even if the engine is approaching the high RPM limit. The transmission will automatically downshift to prevent engine stall.
Paddle Shifters will also work in a "semi-manual" mode while the vehicle is in drive. If a paddle shift is requested and accepted, the vehicle will shift to the requested gear and hold that gear for a short period of time or until another gear is requested.
The paddle shifters 1 are located behind the steering wheel. To upshift a gear, squeeze and release the right (+) paddle toward the steering wheel while running the engine at an appropriate RPM level. To downshift a gear, squeeze and release the left paddle (-) toward the steering wheel while maintaining the engine at an appropriate RPM level for a downshift. The transmission will not allow a downshift if the vehicle speed is too high for the gear requested.
