Starter Motor Clicks, Does Not Turn or Turns Slowly

Possible Cause Possible Remedy/Action

Engine stop / run / start switch is in the STOP position

Place the switch in the RUN position.

Discharged battery

Fully charge the battery. See Battery Charging and Maintenance for details.

Loose or corroded battery cables

Inspect the battery cables.

Transmission is in gear

Shift the transmission into neutral or with the sidestand retracted, pull the clutch lever in to disengage the clutch.
