Transmission Fluid Change

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.

  2. Remove the right side panel.

  3. Remove the push pin 1 that secures the console to the right fender.

  4. Remove the screw 2 that fastens the console to the footrest support.

  5. Carefully flex the console out to gain access to the push rivet that secures the right fender to the footrest support.

  6. Remove the push pin 3 that secures the right fender to the footrest support.

    NOTE

    The console has been removed from the graphic for illustration clarity.

  7. Carefully flex the right fender down to gain access to the transmission fill plug.

  8. Remove the transmission fill plug 4.

  9. Remove the fasteners 5 that attach the rear of the right fender to the running board.

  10. Put a drain pan under the transmission drain plug.

  11. Carefully flex the fender down to gain access to the transmission drain plug.

  12. Remove the transmission drain plug 6. Let the fluid drain.

    NOTICE

    Fluid might run down the fender before flowing into the drain pan. Wipe residual fluid off the fender after the transmission has drained.

  13. Clean the transmission drain plug magnetic surface.

  14. Install the transmission drain plug. Torque to specification.

    TORQUE

    Transmission Fill / Drain Plug:

    12 ft-lbs (16 N·m)

  15. Raise the right ski so it is 6 in (15 cm) off the ground.

    CAUTION

    Make sure the vehicle is secure and safely supported.

  16. Add the recommended amount of fluid through the fill hole.

    CAPACITY

    Transmission Lubricant:

    AGL Synthetic Gearcase

    Transmission Capacity:

    24 oz (700 ml)

  17. Install the transmission fill plug. Torque to specification.

    TORQUE

    Transmission Fill / Drain Plug:

    12 ft-lbs (16 N·m)

  18. Put the right ski on the ground.

  19. Check for leaks.

  20. Install the fasteners 5 that attach the rear of the right fender to the running board. Torque to specification.

    TORQUE

    Fender Fastener:

    35 in-lbs (4 N·m)
  21. Install the push pin 3 that secures the right fender to the footrest support.

    NOTE

    The console has been removed from the graphic for illustration clarity.

  22. Install the push pin 1 that secures the console to the right fender.

  23. Install the screw 2 that fastens the console to the footrest support. Torque to specification.

    TORQUE

    Console Fastener:

    71 in-lbs (8 N·m)
  24. Install the right side panel.
